Amy Sedaris=My God(dess)

After watching six consecutive episodes of Strangers with Candy, I have discovered two things.
1) No one else I know likes this show (as I learned from the confused and disgusted reactions of those few I forced to watch an episode in which Jerri Blank learns of her Native American heritage)
2) Amy Sedaris is my idol
If' you haven't seen this obscure and brief television series, scrounge up the complete series on DVD and uncover true genius. Stangers with Candy visciously mocks those sappy after-school specials where problems were solved in 30 minutes and saccharine sweet morals were shoved down viewers throats. Amy Sedaris and her amigos (Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello) just have a blast ripping up the standard plots and scenarios. With zealous acting and brilliant writing, the show creates a darkly hilarious and quirky world that is just a joy to watch.
Anyways, I have tried showing this to many of my friends and most of them HATED it. They get confused and are unable to understand the brilliant satire. I get a bit despondent when I'm unable to convert others to my obsessions, but whatever I can watch it whenever I want.
Amy Sedaris is easily the funniest woman, nay, person alive today. She has talent and makes me proud that women actually can be good comedians. Her ability to be so funny, feminine and creative has converted me, she is my new God. Her book "Hospitality Under the Influence" is my bible (and cooking book) and I constantly watch her interviews on David Letterman for fashion tips and current view points. Praise be to Amy!

Ten Things I Hate About Being Obsessed

I'm truly dissapointed in myself, I'm depressed over a celebrity. Granted, this Australian gent was quite the talented actor and he MADE the latest Batman movie, I just am upset that I'm in such a Bye Bye Birdie-esque situation.
Well in my greatest bit of depression I wheedled my beloved Big Sis to drive me to Tacoma so I could just bask in Heath Ledger's past glory. We went to Stadium High School where the fabulous teen romcom, Ten Things I Hate About You, was filmed. Basically it was amazing, the school was gorgeous and I got to see the very stadium where Heath serenaded the beyond lucky Julia Stiles and walked around the parking lot where he smoked and smoldered. I am so glad I let this stupid melancholy drive me to such obsessive measures.
